New German funding measure "CO2-WIN"

In February, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) started its newest dedicated funding measure for CO2 valorisation: "CO2 as a sustainable source of carbon - Pathways to industrial application (CO2-WIN)".

The aim of "CO2-WIN" is the efficient and timely transfer of research results into industrial practice. Therefore, a high emphasis lies on industry-led projects. However, also highly innovative projects with lower TRL are also in the project portfolio. In total twelve R&D joint projects are supported over a period of 3 years. Topics covered are carbonation and mineralisation, artificial photosynthesis, chemical and biotechnological transformation, and electrochemical synthesis. The projects are supported further by a networking and transfer project, which is co-ordnated by DECHEMA e.V.

The funding measure will kick off with an internal virtual meeting of the project coordinators on June 26th.
